AdvancedTCA (Advanced Telecom Computing Architecture) is an industry standard to create a new blade (board) and chassis form factor (shelf) optimized for communications.  AdvancedTCA is targeted to requirements for the next generation of “carrier grade” communications equipment.

This series of specifications incorporates the latest trends in high speed interconnect technologies (such as PCI Express, Rapid Serial IO, 10GbE, iSCSI, SATA), next generation processors, and improved Reliability, Availability, and Serviceability (RAS).   AdvancedTCA is the largest specification effort in the PCI Industrial Computer Manufacturer’s Group’s (PICMG) history, with more than 100 companies participating.
